A straight seam at the hips slims the front view. We shift the side seams forward just a little to create this straighter line at the sides, it narrows the shape. That straighter shape pulls in the tummy, we put the curves at the back, where we want them. We angle the pockets to create a curved shape at the butt, a pitch that lifts the back view. It’s jeans engineering, an architecture of denim. Carefully positioned pockets create "the good butt".
